Thanks to sustained growth in investment attractiveness in recent years, urban development in the capital has significantly accelerated. The construction of multi-storey residential buildings, hotels, business centers, cultural and sports complexes is expanding the city’s infrastructural and economic potential. At the same time, the construction of New Tashkent has begun – together with the existing city, it will form a modern metropolis.

Quality and reliability are crucial when implementing such large-scale and long-term projects. On May 13, a meeting chaired by the President was held to address these very issues. The Head of State emphasized the priority of quality and safety in construction, instructing that a scientific approach be developed and modern standards be introduced into the industry.

At today’s presentation, information was provided on the progress made in this area. In line with the instructions, the compliance of new high-rise buildings with safety requirements was reassessed. Scientific and technical conclusions were obtained from approximately ten organizations, including UzGASHKLITI, the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences, the Main Department for Emergency Situations, sanitary and epidemiological services, and others. According to the updated requirements, new buildings must be designed to withstand seismic activity of no less than nine on the Richter scale. A comprehensive expert assessment will be prepared for each project.

With the increasing number of high-rise buildings and new complexes, there is a growing need for a stable power supply. In this regard, a new 160-megawatt substation is planned in Chilanzar district. This will ensure reliable energy provision for future projects in the district without overloading the existing networks.

A water reservoir with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters is also planned for construction in this district. This will ensure uninterrupted water supply for Chilanzar, Shaykhantakhur, and Uchtepa districts. It is expected to save approximately 8,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day.

Tashkent is increasingly becoming a venue for major business events, forums, and exhibitions. One such facility is the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (CAEx) complex. The construction of dedicated meeting rooms is planned in light of the international conferences.

A key factor in the city’s attractiveness is convenient public transportation. The capital continues to expand its bus routes and metro lines systematically.

As previously reported, the metro system is planned to be extended to the territory of the Tashkent Tractor Plant. The project will be implemented in two phases. The Chilanzar line will be extended above ground from the Pushkin station to the Tashkent Ring Road in the first phase. In the second phase, an underground line will be constructed from the Ring Road to the central bus station located in the TTP residential area.

Additionally, to ease traffic congestion, this railway line is planned to run beneath the Tashkent Ring Road. The construction of the underground section will be carried out without interrupting surface traffic. The new metro line is expected to serve up to 85,000 daily passengers.

Another promising project is the metro line to the city of New Tashkent. It will begin at the “Dustlik” metro station and extend to the new administrative center. The route will span 21 kilometers and include 9 stations. This line is expected to serve up to 230,000 passengers per day.

The presentation reviewed the technical and economic parameters of the proposed projects. The Head of State gave instructions to improve construction quality, promote a culture of building excellence, and ensure maximum convenience for the population.
