In light of the country’s growing domestic demand, the energy sector is undergoing consistent development. Several promising projects are being implemented as a result of the President’s foreign visits and the business forums held within their framework.
In particular, an agreement has been reached with Azerbaijan’s SOCAR company on oil exploration and extraction at fields in the Ustyurt region. Joint geological exploration is planned in promising areas.
Cooperation is also underway with several other countries in areas such as the development of complex fields, digitalization of the sector, training of highly sought-after specialists, and other initiatives.
During the presentation, responsible officials reported on the current status of joint projects and outlined further plans.
The President instructed that the development of concrete projects for promising fields be accelerated and that a complete production cycle – from geological exploration to the final product – be established.
It was emphasized that the use of modern drilling technologies must be expanded and that oil and gas production volumes should be increased by enhancing the efficiency of well operations at existing foreign and joint enterprises.
At the meeting, preparations for the autumn and winter seasons were also reviewed. Responsible officials reported on the measures being taken to increase energy production, inject gas into underground storage facilities, and ensure a balanced supply of resources.
Construction is underway at the Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant on two combined-cycle units with a total capacity of 1,065 megawatts, and in Syrdarya on a new TPP with a capacity of 1,573 megawatts. The combined design output of these facilities will amount to 20 billion kilowatt-hours per year.
Additionally, by the end of this year, several new hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 162 megawatts will be commissioned in Tashkent, Namangan, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions. These facilities are expected to generate 648 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This capacity will serve as an additional resource to meet the population’s needs and support the country’s rapidly developing economy.
At the same time, work has begun on repairing related power grids and substations, and necessary reserves of fuel, spare parts, and components are being formed to ensure the stable operation of thermal power plants.
Tasks have been set to ensure the consistent modernization of infrastructure and to maintain a stable and uninterrupted energy supply.
